Open Screen Project Overview

The $10 million Open Screen Project Fund, announced by Nokia and Adobe, awards grants to help developers create exciting new applications and content over the next two years up to December 2010. The fund also provides marketing and educational support for the Open Screen Project, which aims to establish cross-platform runtimes, remove development and distribution barriers, and innovate through industry collaboration.

The fund invites submissions for initiatives that focus on developing Flash Lite from Adobe content for use on Nokia platforms and devices. All types of applications that incorporate Flash Lite can be considered, but those that have broad appeal and that make the most of Nokia's platform capabilities are most likely to catch the interest of the judging panel.

To ensure wide discovery and uptake of winning projects, Nokia and Adobe will guide the successful applications into a number of distribution channels. These channels will deliver those rich, Flash-based experiences to market segments around the world, creating new business opportunities for developers.
