What's eligible for funding

Any submission that makes use of Flash technology on the S60 platform or the Series 40 platform is eligible for funding through the Open Screen Project Fund. These are some of the types of applications that can be considered for funding:

  • Projects that reflect the vision of the Open Screen Project: to enable consumers to access, utilise, and share rich content seamlessly, no matter which devices, operating systems, browsers, or networks they use.
  • Projects that make the best use of core Nokia technologies, such as the touch UI, S60 Platform Services, and embedded-media playback.
  • Projects that explore online connectivity, networking, social context, and user location.
  • Projects for mobilising applications that might otherwise be limited to desktop use.
  • Projects that involve globally recognised media and brands.
To request development funding, start by learning how to apply.

A working prototype may be the best way to show that your project deserves funding. It will help the funding panel, which includes mobile experts from Adobe and Nokia, to see the potential for your project. It also will demonstrate the technical or creative skills needed to make it a success. You may use screen mock-ups, UI flow diagrams, multimedia presentations, or Microsoft PowerPoint slides to support your submission.

Be sure to provide enough supporting material to properly describe your project and to help convince the panel that it has merit.
